UNION CITY, CALIFORNIA — April 1, 2005 — Flat screen enthusiasts visiting the Designer Showhouse of New Jersey this month will be admire Runco International’s CinemaWall plasma monitor display in the “Retreat Room.” Installed by the Electronic Design Group, Runco’s CW-50mc flat panel plasma monitor is bound to capture the attention of all visitors to this annual charity event. Brainchild of the Mitchell Manning Associates, Ltd, a full-service marketing and public relations agency in New York City, the showhouse is an annual forum that features some of the top names in interior design. For years the venue was located in the Hamptons on Long Island. This year marks the debut of the sprawling five-acre estate in Englewood, New Jersey. The event will run for six weeks, from April 16 to May 30. The price of admission is $25.00 and all proceeds will benefit The Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center.

The Runco CW-50mc features a combination of technological breakthroughs. Runco has, for the first time, incorporated its acclaimed ViViX™ processing onto a modular card for the first time in the CW-50mc. The controller card contains all of the processing circuitry needed to generate superb images in the plasma application.

ViViX processing circuitry has also been re-engineered and improved. Orthogonal line processing and de-interlacing have been incorporated, and a sophisticated video decoder is used to compensate for time-based errors that can appear in analog sources such as VHS tape. The new orthogonal algorithms add substantial refinement to image processing, and the new decoder produces deeply saturated colors, excellent contrast, brightness, and black levels without the artifacts associated with ordinary processing.

The CW-50mc has a native resolution of 1280 X 768 to accommodate all HDTV sources with ease. Spectacular picture performance can be viewed at an angle as wide as 160 degrees from the chassis, which measures under 4 _ inches deep. The CW-50mc is available with a wall-mount or a table top stand.
