While Newspaper Circulation Declines Web Publishers are Growing

Reno, NV - In September, newspaper publishers began reporting their circulation and revenue figures that show a 2.5 percent decline over the last six months in circulation. A trend that has made headlines with the news of Knight Ridder (NYSE: KRI) facing a potential break up.

The same week, The Tribune Co. (NYSE: TRB) announced that declining circulation and revenue forced the newspaper publisher to cut jobs at five newspapers, including The Tribune's flagship newspapers in Los Angeles and Chicago.

Even the New York Times confessed to the same problems and said it would lay off as many as 500 workers across the country.

Yet while print publishers are facing tough times an online news publisher is seeing growth and expansion.

AXcess News (http://www.axcessnews.com), a Reno-based Internet news publisher, has developed the first network approach to online news through a proprietary content management system (CMS) that can manage multiple networks, making it possible to launch a global news network.

AXcess News, which developed the CMS platform over a four-year period, is about to license its system to two Internet news organizations in Canada and the UK, creating the first global news network that will be comprised of 230 city sites.
