Neothings And Charmed Quark Systems Announce Device Support

La Mesa, CA, January3, 2006 - Neothings, Inc., in coordination with Charmed Quark Systems Ltd. announced today that the Avalon™ matrix switch is now fully supported in the Charmed Quark Controller software.

Charmed Quark Systems software, called the Charmed Quark Controller, or CQC, is a full featured, low cost control system for PC based control systems. CQC can interface to home theater equipment, HVAC, lighting, and security systems. Addition of support for Neothings products will add to options for Neothings and Charmed Quark Systems customers alike.

The Avalon™ is a component video and digital audio matrix switch, featuring up to 8 component video and digital audio inputs and up to 4 outputs. The 8x4 version can accommodate 8 sources of high-definition component video, such as D-VHS decks, cable boxes, satellite receivers, DVD changers, and more. Using the 4 outputs, each output can be routed to a different room in the home, allowing each room location to view different HD video sources. With this latest announcement, the system integrator or home theater DIY user can employ off the shelf touch panels with the CQC software to allow control from any room in the home. The Avalon™ is also available in a 6x2 configuration.
