TRIBUTARIES® Bows Long-Run HDMI™ Solution

The HDMI™ (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) connection is rapidly becoming the universal standard for digital televisions, HDTV monitors and tuners, and digital-video sources such as digital-cable set-top boxes, DVD and HD-DVD/BluRay players. As a single-cable plug-and-play standard, HDMI is effective, convenient, and affordable. But HDMI is not always suitable for long cable runs out of the box—video signals can suffer image-loss, blocking, “sparklies,” or loss of resolution—which is where Tributaries steps in.
Though little bigger than a bar of soap, the HX100 HDMI Restorer exploits advanced video engineering and creative sub-miniature circuit design to automatically analyze the incoming digital signal and apply custom-tailored equalization-contouring that ensures optimum performance at the other end. Regardless of the connected length and quality of cable, or of video-format demands, this continuous dynamic, self-monitoring correction ensures complete data restoration of the incoming signal to HDMI specifications, minimizing data loss by the receiving component and so enabling full quality delivery for all digital television resolutions up to and including 1080p (or computer-graphic formats up to UXGA). Unlike some conventional HDMI™ “repeaters,” the HX100 is engineered to lock on even to a weak HDMI data-stream and restore it to full-bandwidth integrity: to indicate that power has been applied either by the external power supply or from the HDMI bus, the chassis-mounted green LED will illuminate.
The HX100’s circuitry is direct coupled from input to output and is designed with fully balanced-line signaling and self-diagnostic monitoring.
The Tributaries HX100 HDMI Restorer is constructed on an all-metal chassis using the latest ultra-high-frequency surface-mount technologies, and is supplied with an outboard, 4.5-volt DC power supply for use on longer-run installations.
Available immediately, with a manufacturer’s suggested price of $299.
