EchoStar and DIRECTV Settle Trademark Dispute
EchoStar and DIRECTV Joint Statement
EchoStar Satellite L.L.C. and DIRECTV jointly announce that they have settled certain litigations pending between them in the federal district courts in California and New York regarding the use of each others' trademarks as keywords to trigger sponsored links on Internet searches such as Google Adwords® and similar search engines. They have agreed that neither of them will use the trademarks of the other as keywords unless and until the United States Supreme Court or the United States Congress establish that this practice is not a violation of the law. Neither party shall have any further comment on these litigations or the settlement of them. |
