Morel, one of the world’s foremost home audio and raw driver manufacturers since 1975, has announced a breakthrough high-end loudspeaker.

Leveraging over three decades of renowned knowledge and experience in the design and manufacturing of top-quality loudspeakers, and hi end speaker units Morel has seen an opportunity to capture a significant share in the high-end market.

“In creating a reference floor standing speaker to anchor Morel’s home audio developments going forward, our goal was to bend traditional design paradigms and achieve a revolution in sound reproduction,” says Morel Founder and President, Mr. Meir Mordechai.

Designed in concert with the world’s top concept and design team led by Mr. Oren Mordechai, Mr. David Zuman and Mr. Alain Fouraux, Morel’s Fat Lady is uniquely sculpted with individually hand made production, of a few layers of composite. The outer carbon-fiber composite, structure is rigid and stiff, and the inside fiberglass enhanced layer, is with unique damping behavior. To achieve maximum excellence of cabinet material, both for inner and outer cabinet “We set uncompromising goals for ourselves, both in design and in sound quality. With those in mind we set out to develop the Super-Speaker,” states Morel’s Executive Vice President Mr. Oren Mordechai. “Using the latest technologies and advanced composites, after years of material research, we are able to render a product of unparalleled functionality and set new standards of products in this industry, closing the gap with the most advanced technologies in the world of consumer products,” Mr. Mordechai concludes.

To produce this revolutionary sound, Morel’s engineers selected a unique integration of composites, mixing carbon, fiberglass, resin, and other materials, as used in other variations, making the best racing cars and jet airplanes.
The Fat Lady’s unique design is the result of over two years of R&D, in the quest to create the definitive sound experience. Explains Morel’s CEO Mr. Meir Mordechai, “The Fat Lady’s curved shape provides extraordinary sound dispersion through the driver membranes to the outer space without deflection and sound distortion.” The speaker’s curved contour is elegantly finished with several layers of protective epoxy lacquer.

Morel’s Fat Lady employs two 9″ woofers, a single 6″ midrange and a 1.1″ hand-coated soft dome tweeter, all specially designed for this application. It employs a powerful magnet system, an under-hung voice coil design as well as Morel’s trademark oversized External Voice Coil (EVCTM) and Hexatech aluminum voice coil technologies to achieve a uniquely balances, accurate and natural listening experience. Morel meticulously engineered the loudspeaker’s woofer and midrange composite cones from 3 layers sandwich made of carbon fiber woven matt, Roahcell PMI damper and non woven carbon sheet for optimum performance, creating the world’s first speaker made of a single, mono- material fiber carbon!
