Tripp Lite Introduces Energy-Saving ECO Series UPS Systems for Home and Office
Tripp Lite, a world-leading manufacturer of power protection equipment, has introduced a new line of eco-friendly UPS systems that provide energy savings, battery backup and power protection for computers and electronics in home and office environments. ECO Series UPS Systems are up to 99% efficient and also include a special energy-saving feature that turns off designated ECO outlets when a USB-connected computer is turned off or enters standby mode. This feature eliminates energy waste caused by "phantom loads" - devices that consume electricity when they aren’t being used, even if they appear to be turned off. ECO Series UPS Systems can save up to $50 on utility bills, conserve 470 kilowatt-hours of electricity and reduce carbon emissions by 630 pounds per year over more basic UPS designs, depending on equipment load and local utility rates."ECO Series UPS Systems are perfect for anyone who wants to protect their productivity and their pocketbook,” said David Slotten, Tripp Lite Director of Product Management. “These UPS systems can save enough electricity to pay for themselves very quickly and are an important part of Tripp Lite’s broad lineup of green power protection solutions, which address applications ranging from individual home users to enterprise data centers."
Three models of ECO Series UPS Systems are currently available:
- ECO750UPS: 750VA, 12 total outlets – including 4 ECO outlets
- ECO550UPS: 550VA, 8 total outlets – including 3 ECO outlets
- ECO350UPS: 350VA, 6 total outlets – including 2 ECO outlets
All ECO Series UPS Systems are 100% RoHS compliant. RoHS aims to improve environmental conditions worldwide by strictly limiting the use of six hazardous substances: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). Tripp Lite manufactures hundreds of RoHS-compliant products, which can be identified by the RoHS logo.
