Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America Showcases Seven Integrated, Digital Cable Ready MicroDisplay HDTV Projection Televisions

CEDIA EXPO 2004, August 26, 2004 --- Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, Inc. will present seven fully integrated high definition projection televisions featuring microdisplay technology at CEDIA EXPO 2004 in Indianapolis. More than just televisions, three of the new models come with high definition PVRs (personal video recorders) with integrated 120-gigabyte hard drives and MPEG SD encoders, giving viewers the ability to record any digital and all 480i analog video signals.

Leading the line-up is Mitsubishi's standard-bearing WL-82913, which boasts an 82-inch screen with 3-chip LCoS technology, unsurpassed 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and HD PVR. The others, which all feature DLP™ technology and 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, include the 52-inch WD-52525 and the 62-inch WD-62525; the Medallion series 52-inch WS-52725 and 62-inch WD-62725; and the Diamond series 52-inch WD-52825 and 62-inch WD-62825, which each include HD PVRs. The seven new models will be available at selected retailers this year.

All models include Mitsubishi’s MediaCommand® 5-format digital memory card reader; a slot for CableCARD®, a programmable card that eliminates the need for unsightly set-top cable boxes; and Mitsubishi's PerfectColor™ technology for precise 6-way color adjustment.

In addition, all come with IEEE 1394 interfaces for digital home networking; NetCommand® 4.0 system control, which makes the television an easy-to-use command center for a full home theater system; and AMVP2™ (Mitsubishi's second-generation Advanced Multimedia Video Processor) for precise upconversion of all 480i analog and digital signals.

All of the new 52” and 62” models feature elegant, tabletop designs and matching bases. The Medallion and Diamond models also come with the anti-glare DiamondShield™, and the Diamond models include a black high-gloss finish. The WL-82913 is in an elegant black, high-gloss, floor-standing cabinet.

In separate announcements, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America introduced its new lines of LCD and plasma displays, Digital Cable Ready projection televisions, Digital Cable Ready microdisplay projection televisions, and its expanded line of DVD players, HD digital recorders and analog VHS recorders.
