dudde the hifonics Brutus are overrated, they will only pump about 75-85% of what they say they are, the Alpine MRP-M850 is a soild amp but not enough to power your 15" Type R, get the MRP-M1000 that will power it nice or the kicker zx 1000.1, both those amps will push 1000Wrms @ 2 ohm |

^^x2. personally I like jl slash amps a 500/1 believe it or not will slam that sub with awesome sound. Trust me I have 2 R 15's on a 1000/1 and it kills . Price isn't bad either you can find the 500/1 for 300 shipped on ebay. Awesome price for a high quality amp. |

2 type-r 15s on a JL 1000/1??? they need more than that to really get moving. im sure you can put that amp on just 1 of those typeRs. Hunter, If you want that sub to slam then put 1000wrms on it at least. if its a dual4ohm sub then your amps are limited to something like a kicker zx1000.1 and that would be PERFECT. However, if you have the dual2ohm sub then you have lots of options for amps. remember that a better install makes for a better sound! INSTALL is KEY!!! lets start off with a few questions: 1. budget for amp? 2. do you have the wire kit already? |

Don't be fooled by the 1000/1's power rating. It makes those R 15's scream for mercy.... To me it sounds like 1600+ rms from comparable amps.. but that could be just me |

Haha well considering my last amp was a hifonics 1600rms compared to the 1000rms from the jl. The jl gave that a hifonics a run for its money buts its also more expensive too. I was thinking of selling that jl to get either an orion or a zapco wanna work the R's to the fullest |

a ~$250 HF and a $700 JL are anything but "comparable". You have a notoriously over-rated 1600w amp, probably closer to 1200-1300 realistically, and an under-rated 1000w amp, probably around 1200 realistically. That explains why one "sounds like" the other. |

are you getting the dual 4 ohm model or the dual 2 ohm cause if your getting the Kicker zx1000.1, your gunna want to get the dual four so you can run it at 2 ohm at 1000W. |

dudde cant go wrong with the dual 4ohm model and getting the zx1000.1 running it at 2ohm 1000W, if you build the proper box and to spec it will be real loud and pound |

JL slash amps are regulated, so if I'm correct they will do very near 1000w. no more and no less. |
