I have a Rockford Fosgate amp that puts out 1295rms at 1 ohm. I am looking at puchasing an Alpine type x 12" suboofer that is dual voice coil 4ohms each coil. Is there any way possible to get this to wire down to 1 ohm? because the amp only puts out 750rms at two ohms. I would love to use the full capacity of my amplifier in order to make the sound as loud as possible. I have looked and i can't seem to find an Alpine type x 12" in a dual voice coil that has 2 ohms each. what should i do? is it possible? Is there any subwoofer that would be able to use the full capacity of my amp? |

check out the BL12 from ficaraudio.com. I don't have personal experience, but Fi seems to be one of the hotter subs going right now. |

no you cannot wire a single type x dual 4 down to 1 ohm you could wire it to 2 ohms or 8 ohms you would need a dual 2 ohm subwoofer if you are going with a single sub setup What is your budget and are you looking for SPL, SQL, or SQ? SPL - Loud SQ - Sound Quality SQL - A mixture of both |
