why do aftermarket head units sound better with speakers? is it the wattage? i have a sony cdx-mp40 head unit that puts out 52 watts for 4 channels. my fren has the new pioneer avic f90bt that puts out 50 watts to 4 speakers. what's better??? sound quality wise? |

The pioneer is Far superior to the sony HU, in SQ, and all other aspects of the HU.And I highly doubt yours puts out rated power. Sorry man, His is far better then yours. Pioneers entry level HU are better then sonys High end HU's. |

Oh and also one of the reasons aftermarket HU's sound better then stock HU's is generally because the aftermarket HU's have better THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) and S/n(Signal to noise Ratio) |
