I am getting the jl audio 10" w3v3 it has 1000w and the max is 500w rms and I am thinking of getting the "jl audio hd 500w amp" but I do t know if that's the right watts to put in there |

There are three versions of that sub - 2 ohm, 4 ohm, and 8 ohm. We need to know which you are getting to know what amp would work best. The 2 ohm or 4 ohm version would work well with the 500/1, but there are a lot of other less expensive options for quality amps that will do a good job. |

The JL would work well, but it's pretty pricey. It will cost you in the neighborhood of $450. For around $200 you can get something comparable power-wise from a number of quality brands -- Alpine, JBL, Infinity, Pioneer, MTX etc. |
