If you're looking to run 2000w+ and run it at or near full volume once in a while you'll want, at the minimum a big /-\$$ alternator. 200A or so. One good healthy battery will suffice unless you want to run it (loud) without the engine running more than a couple minutes at a time. And I think if you ask around you'll find a LOT of people that would adamantly argue M.S.'s opinion on L7's. |

An L7 would sound fine on rap or similair music. But on rock or anything with true instruments, they sound like poo. Atlest the 15"s do... |

ok i dont want everyone in the forum yelling at me again for this, my budget is 2k for subs and an amp, all electrical and everything seperate I am in the process of choosing an suv type vehicle, and am not decided on the honda cr - v, or jeep grand cherokee, chevy trailblazer, or some others in mind ive heard the type r's, and i mean their LOUD, but i never really felt them in the dudes car and dude you really shouildn't diss thos brutus squares, they slam pretty hard for only 120 bux a pop, they just dont hit real high or low low, but it was my first system, and those things shook every part of my 95 grand am off, and are in the process of destroying a 2002 grand prix se anyways, i keep finding and losing the site, but i have a LEGITAMATE kicker dealer that wil sell me 4 2008 kicker l7 15' subs for 900 bux w/sh i also found a legitamite site that i can get the 2008 zx 2500 for 800 bux i was wondering if that would be enough to power all four safely, an not underpower? i will have two yellow capper optima batteries, and il end uip getin a cap and alt soon after the order |

so are you dead set on a SUV atleast? the vehicle is an important factor in choosing sub sizes due to the air space you can get some really good deals on RD Audio at the moment http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/529468.html |

the L7's would work on that power. but really need more than that for 4 -15's. I would do a minimum of 3500wrms.. maybe AQ3500, or rd 3250 @.5ohm. . Maybe you can find a used Ia40.1. RF Tpower 4k(cant believe i said that), or equivalent. Seriously.. get the AQ HDC3 15's. with 4 of em you will forget all about what coulda been with the squares. <----been there - done that- moved on |

Bro with a budget like that I'd be looking elswhere for subs and amps, I can get you a deal on arc audio amps, hertz subs, you name it. For $2000 you can have a hell of a system. Why not 2 arc audio ks 1000.1's and 4 jl audio 12 w6's, well below your budget, I can get the amps for about $400 a piece, woofersetc.com wants $550 for them and dealer cost stereo, just go to caraudio.com and scroll down and you'll see it. They only want $279 shipped each for the jl audio 12 w6v2d-4's, I would highly recommend those. It'll slam and sound great, if you need any help with pricing e-mail me at joshualittle1982@yahoo.com and I'll be sure to refer you to someone who can help you out. I know you want the best for your money. |

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=6865. I would recommend 2 of these amps, a friend of mine can get them for around $400 a piece. And I would go for 4 of these subs.http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/12w6v2.aspx. Please whatever you do don't go with the square's, I've heard them and while there loud, the sq sucks big hairy balls. If your interested in the amps at around $400 a piece email me at joshualittle1982@yahoo.com |

agreed, just about every post but the posts from the regulars.. as far as l7's nolt needing a bunch or upograds, well..... With 2 L7's on recomended power you would need upgrades... Even moreso with 4. |
